Volks, Many of you have been aware that we have been developing an eight function digital display for the Vanagon and for the Golf A2. The following is a sneak peak of our working prototype of this gauge which is installed in our TriStar TDI. Just a note, the gauge pictured is a prototype and the final revision will be displaying different readings once everything is finalized. http://www.fastforward.ca/gallery/1005instrumentpod.jpg This digital gauge will measure the following engine parameters: Oil Temperature Oil Pressure Water Temperature Pre Intercooler Temperature Post Intercooler Temperature Exhaust Temperature Engine RPM Boost Pressure Temperature measurements can be in Celsius or Fahrenheit and pressures can be in bar or PSI - temperatures and pressure do not have to be the same, for example temperatures can be in Celsius and pressures in PSI. Values update once every second. As well as measuring these valves, the gauge can be programmed to warn the driver when they are approaching maximum or minimum valves and it will record the date and time each of these values have been exceeded. Other modifications to the above cluster include a 200km/h speedometer a fuel gauge (with backlight!) where the clock is supposed to be and the addition of check engine and glow plug icons.
