Big Brother... isn't it the same outfit that tells you that doing 2mph over the speed limit automatically makes you a crazed murdered? Do you really expect the gummint (ANY gummint) to tell the truth? Those folk have an agenda.

And the manufacturers are covering their butts. They are not interested in anything more than the minimum work to certify a vehicle, so they do't even bother to specify car tires.
