Just to make one thing clear...

Karl's auction is for 86-91 ATE calipers, which are very rarely found on
U.S. spec Vanagons. Most 80-85 Vanagons use a different ATE caliper (which I
sell for $99 each) and most 86-91 use Girling calipers (which I sell for a
bit more than that). If you need 1986-up ATE calipers, I would second
Larry's opinion that $99 a pair is an absolute steal, but it might be worth
a warning not confuse them with the more commonly used 80-85 ATE's.  Also to
confirm something in his auction listing: He says that he believes, but is
not sure, that they are new rather than rebuilt. Yes, these would be new; I
recognize the labeling. 

I'm not trying to sabotage Karl's auction by any means ($99 a pair is a
bargain if these are the calipers you need), but I would hate to see someone
buy calipers that don't fit their van, since these are not the common
application.
