Subject: Speaking of steering wheels...
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"

Volks,

Yea, the recent discussion regarding std & PS steering wheels reminded me of a minor problem I have with my steering wheel that perhaps someone else has found a good solution for...

On my 92, the rubberised outer skin of the steering wheel has separated from the inner frame on one part of the wheel....at about 2 o'clock where my right hand generally rests. This isn't a visible defect but is somewhat annoying as the rubbery stuff moves under one's hand. I have ignored it for a while but now the missus has noticed it and I am sure to be reminded of it regularly...;-)

I have toyed with the possible folly of attempting to inject an adhesive in thru the outer part of the wheel with a large syringe but have yet see if I can actually put this into practice...

Of course I could just get another wheel but that wouldn't satisfy my anal obsession for keeping the van original wherever possible as we've owned it since it was a pup...

Anyone else had this happen to their wheel...and fixed it?

PS. On an unrelated note....I have attempted a number of times to add my van and location to the Frappr Vanagon map but without success as I am continually told I have an invalid city or location. Well fair enough, I don't live in a city and the map seems not to be able to deal with a regional location in Australia...despite it being a world map. Can anybody point out WTF I'm doing wrong?....
