When I ran into this scenario, I ordered a bunch of the adjusters, which are VW specific. There 2 different ones for the main headlight (adjustable and non-adjustable), and 2 additional different ones for the high beams (adjustable and different). With 3 vanagons, and 15 years of aging on the plastic, getting a couple dozen of these adjusters just seems sensible to me.
