Darryl, Thanks for this info, now I understand things a bit better - I also studied the EKTA diagrams to see how all the pieces go together. The driver side has more play, possibly because the inner CV was nearly seized due to hardened grease. I imagine this would place more side forces on the flange spine joint causing more wear? Transmission was very quiet, so I think bearings are fine. I'll watch the seal for leaks.
