New to the list. Have a 85 Vanagon for sale. Weekender water-cooled, AT in good shape, AC. Navy Blue with gray stripe. Great interior and exterior, little to no rust. Fast Forward automotive Brush Bumber. The van has around 140k and went through the power-loss problem. I began to take parts off in hopes of installing a new engine. The current engine will run when fully assembled but on torque will slow dramatically (Some parts are removed so currently not-running). I am a grad student finishing at VT and am moving, I can't afford to haul the van. 600.00 obo (bumber is over 300.00). Make an offer, I will sell the van to highest bidder hopefully by Monday. -----Original Message----- From: Vanagon Mailing List [mailto:vanagon@gerry.vanagon.com] On Behalf Of Gary Bawden Sent: Friday, October 28, 2005 3:40 AM To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM Subject: Re: What I did a few weeks ago--a pallet in my Vanagon Jim and assorted Volks, Excellent! I, too, consider my Vanagon to be a half-ton vehicle. Some recent loads come to mind (not all in one trip!): Hydraulic auger on a pallet, 55 gallon drum of kerosene, 10 concrete pier blocks (estimated 70 lbs. each), plus the usual groceries, etc., 13 bales of hay (could've put in about four more if I'd taken out the front passenger seat), Several full sheets of plywood, lots of 10' lengths of pipe - - really, anything I can cram in safely (my safety standards may pre-date OSHA) :-) And if it won't fit inside, just a couple of weeks ago I finished building a roof rack and carried a bunch of 16-foot 2 x 6's on top! All that, and the world's best (IMHO) camper, too! Legal disclaimer: Don't try this at home!
