Sounds like your Vanagon has a case of Equine flu. Very common this time of year. The cure is normally a can of Techron FI cleaner or HEAT to get the moisture out of your fuel system. hi list, our westy develops a habit of jumping around unexpectedly. I mean that when i want to accelerate from a stoplight, first nothing happens, it just starts rolling forward slowly for the first 30 feet. then suddenly there is a burst of power and it accelerates like crazy. it doesnt alweays happen, just sometimes, you never know. usually rather the engine is not warm yet, but not exclusively. I have the upgraded air flow meter. i also observe that especially at higher altitudes idle speed when cold can go down to 400, i dont know if thats related. I am very glad for any advice. florian |
