I went with a clone of the buddy heater, a 12' adapter for a bulk tank, a partially open vent window for ventilation (and to pass that propane hose through, the tank lives outside), and a battery-operated CO detector for extra insurance (I hate to wake up dead).

Your budget/needs/paranoia may vary. :-)
