Hi all thanks for the help. i know that most of the time thicker oil and oil pump only and all are just band aids. i do have 2 spare 1.9L sitting in the shed. one is on the engine stand with 1 head off and i have 2 sets of new pistons and cylinders the lower end is fine on the one on the stand so i should just pull what i need and install new P&Cs, heads and new seals. i think the only thing i need to pick up is a new water pump and a few seals hear and there. i probably have enough spares to build 3 motors but i will start with only 1.

so whats the easiest way to pull the piston pin from a 1.9L out that small water pump hole??

i need to get this project off the stand so i can build up the 2.2L type 4 i want to stuff in my 57 single cab and my bugs 1776cc w/ 44 webers has a few metal chunks that i need to pull out of the engine case. still runs fine but i think High Rev hot doggin had something to do with it. so in goes the stock 1300cc to slow me down a bit till the motor is back up to par. i have way to many winter projects this winter. c-ya Jonce
