I bought one of those cube ceramic heaters with a thermostat maybe 8 - 10 years ago and still use it when a plug is avaiable. I try to keep it on the lowest setting while my wife prefers it on broil... I'd try to get one that has all the safety features and tip-over auto. shut-off. They keep the van plenty toasty...
