Chris, You really have to see the difference in Vanagons from the West Coast vs. East Coast. The price difference becomes apparent then. West Coasters have a low tolerance for rust. That is why parts are cheap. Little sign of rust and the poor things are being parted out. That plus we have more Vanagons here than anywhere else it seems. Yes, plenty of parts are given away. I gave away two of these same seats last year. Last night I went to see John H. in Stanford, CA who advertised in Samba about a free aircooled tranny. I picked up the free tranny, ATE brake calipers, brake MC & booster. I gave the brakes to a fellow Vanagoner who needed them. Yes, free. I did not charge them. =) -- BenT
