You've rekindled the bitter memory I have of popping the hood of a car to find droplets of "water" splattered on the core support and wheelhouse on a bone dry day. I reflexively dabbed at them to see if they were drops of oil. Luckily, right before I rubbed my dry eyes, my son said something about the headlights dimming and getting brighter which led me to the queefed out voltage regulator which was overcharging the battery. The pause was enough to allow my fingertips to start burning. Good thing, too, because while I might look as cool as Ray Charles in sunglasses, I sure as hell can't carry a tune like him.
