Subject: dometic 182b question
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=iso-8859-1

Hello, I am trying to get better preformance from my dometic(good luck).Got all winter to succeed , right? well,I am reinstalling the evaperater plate to the black refrigeration pipe at the rear of the frig ,and have questions about this.Between the pipe and the plate goes a product called thermal mastic.I am getting better tempatures without this mastic. However I think ice will get between he pipe and plate to cause heaving. That is no good .In addition to transferting heat efficently, the mastic prevents this ice from forming. The masitc I bought is not too good a heat conducter. It is for gas friges though. Maybe I am not using this product correctly. Comes in a caulk tube. It is rather dry and doesnt give a good coating unless very thick. Can I mix this with something so it will spread better? It is like cookie dough that is too dry.Need to moisten it up.Comes out of the tube like this.I also tried to use heat sink compound. The type that goes between electronic heat sinks and the chassis. Also this is used for soldering diodes and transisters so they wont burn out.. Doesnt work to well. Even worse than mastic. If the ice is not a problem, I will go without any produce as it is far and away the best way yet as far as tempatures go.I ordered a new orifice from bus boys today.Cant wait to compare this new piece with the 2 old jets that I have. Lets get our dometics working like they should.Roger
