The 022D has a removable chip in it and was sought after by people who wanted to use the Australian hi-perf chip a few years back but I never hear about anyone talking about them now and we have never noticed any difference in driveability between the two units. We have always found that every 022 and 022D (new or rebuilt) is interchangeable and syncro v. non-syncro made no difference..
