The X suffix is usually used to denote a rebuilt part. That is the difference between the 022D and 022DX. D is new, DX repaired/rebuilt. There are 3 different ECUs that work with the 2.1 Digifant. Triumph-Adler Digifant Bosch -022 Bosch -022D I don't care as much for the Triumph-Adler version and it is less common as the other 2. The 022D is the latest and the only one that can use the modified chip that has been around for a while. With an admittedly small sample set, I have personally seen more dead TA ones than the other 2 combined but all fail and I have had dead ones of all types.
