getting slower. I took the door apart and put a meter on the switch, good readings in the down position but squat in the up position. Something is not right in the switch.

Has anyone taken the switch apart and cleaned it? It looks like I need to force that pin out and then the rocker will come out.... It would sure be nice if I had some idea of what it looks like inside before I start taking it apart, does anyone know of an on-line picture of the insides? How much force is needed to push the pin out?

Rob, most likely not the switch. Remove the motor and open it up. You will most likely find it full of corrosion, water moisture, debris, etc. BTDT too many times. Those motors are not waterproofed. The good news is that I have been successful in disassembling, cleaning, lubricating and re-assembling the motors and they work just fine afterwards. Best you can do is make sure to spray some rust preventive oil inside the door after you have everything back and working and make sure the door panel is well sealed with the plastic moisture barrier when your done.
