terry's right.. this is the stuff that they use as countertop backsplashes, shower stalls, or wall covering in cheapo gas station bathrooms... thin hard plastic sheeting.... rigid, but flexible.. can get it at the Depot.. Home depot, that is.. only thing i would add a few ratcheting tie downs on it in addition to the perimeter seal of duct tape.. this stuff could really reverberate at highway speed.. might want to put it all on and make a test run down the highway before you set out.

That stuff is a FRP or fibreglass reinforced panel-more expensive than plywood but does come in 4 x 8' x 1/4" T. sheets

Tom-maybe 1/4" masonite panels w/ plastic contact cemented on top would be cheaper?
