Gary, What do you think of Saab seats? I have always found them very comfortable and there are tons of junked saabs. I have just never looked at the brackets to see if it is remotely possible. I have seen the subaru seats installed but I have never thought that subarus are comfortable seats in the subaru.

Well they certainly will not bolt in, but you already knew that. Adapters could be made. I'm thinking it would be a lot of work however. If you have a westfalia you would probably loose the ability to swivel the seats. I like to be able to turn the passenger seat around so it is facing back. I've never swiveled the drivers seat around though. I think that may be one reason the original vanagon seats are so shallow in seat depth, so that they can swivel around.

Recaros are nice, but too expensive for us mortals. If there was a readily available junkyard seat from another vehicle that would work for the vanagon, I'd consider making an adapter kit. Maybe golf/jetta/audi?
