Im sorry, what does "eastern thing" mean? Merkurs didnt succumb to rust. they actually had pretty good body integrity. they succumbed to low resale value and lack of parts availability and the high cost of repair. i still see them now and then in the junkards. but rare anymore. None of them were rusted..bodies near perfect. most have been crushed already 5-8 yrs ago. yards around here turn over stock quickly.

i thought the XR4Ti was a pretty cool looking car with it's dual rear wings..
