Pour the gas out of it, let it dry out for a couple of days, then cap the ends and stow it under your rear seat. It's a fairly common failure item, and (as you know) can stop a trip cold if it quits. Having a spare fuel pump on hand will make sure that something *else* will fail when you are out in the back of beyond...
