Let's think about what you are trying to do and why. Okay, the A/C/ compressor is in the way when you want to work on the thermostat and water pump. Unless you live where it doesn't get hot in summer, a functional A/C has value. Loosen the mounting bolts, remove the drive belt, and then move aside the compressor etc., and hand from the left strut with some bungee cords.

Also, I can tell you from my experience at putting in a new long block, that if I ever have to deal with replacing the water pump, the rear bumper, muffler, and heat shield will get removed first.
