Hi Wes

You could check to see if there are any mobile AC guys out there who would be willing to get the freon out. The stuff is super expensive and should be worth negotiating over, I would think. Expelling the stuff into the atmosphere is certainly not a good option due to the pollution/damage to the ozone layer/global warming problem. You could also check the pressure by putting a gauge on the ports behind the compressor. If no pressure, go ahead and rip the compressor out.
