I guess what people are missing here is that our friends at VW do not sell those plastic nipples on either side of that cross over tube without the tube. It is sold as a unit. So to replace a broken or damaged nipple you need to buy the whole assembly so you get a new tube. In some cases the tube parts company with the nipple, easy to put back but should be hose clamped for security. Rarely does the tube fail. Most often it is the nipple that fails so........back to buying the whole enchilada !
