Hey

I want to be able to remove/replace the center seat in my '87 Syncro quickly and easily. It's been recommended to make spacers to put in the rails that it normally slides into, then use grade 8 bolts to attach the seat on top of the rails.

Any opinions on the likelihood of bolts breaking, or having the nuts rip through the floor in a crash? I'd guess that it's not likely, but VW did most things right, so I hate to weaken their original design.

Raymond
