I've never sat in a Saab before. There are not many (any?) in my local
junkyards.
Subaru seats may be an idea, as there are many people doing Subaru
conversions already.
I don't know how comfortable the seats are, maybe just average. In that
case it's not worth the bother.
One thing the stock vanagon seats have that I really like are the arm rests.
I don't know whether I could live without them so that could be a deal
breaker.
