Glad to hear that you got going again.
It's not mandatory that you be able to repair your Vanagon, but I'd suggest
that you carry a Hayes and Bentley repair manual with you just in case you
have trouble in an area with no actual VW or Vanagon mechanics.
Almost any decent mechanic can use the manuals to get you back on the road
again.

coughed, just once. It did it a few more times between there and Tucumcari,
so I stopped. As I was getting off the freeway, I saw a vanagon and flagged
him down. He said he knows  somebody that works on them and will have him
call me. I got a campsite for the night, and will head for Albuquerque
tomorrow morning hopefully. I know there are listers there that I may be
calling on. Hopefully somebody can figure out what the heck is going on. I
almost feel like throwing up my hands and going home, then I remember I sold
my house!! lol
