It brokeoff with about 1/4 of a turn left > on the thumb part, so I just stuck it backinto the hole and cut off the valve. Happened to mine years ago, and I used a bolt, M12x1.5 I think, instead. It's still holding fine. Just make sure the bolt is long enough to grab as much of the plastic threads as possible. And use a new o-ring. It doesn't need to be that tight.
