I cut an access hole from the rear storage shelf to the top of the hanging cloths closet.  I can
send a photo tomorrow if you want?

Taking the bed out is a long process: (and this is from memory)

1) Remove the tray above the stove/sink window (or at least the bolt that goes into the rear
hanging closet.
2) remove the cosmetic covering above the sliding door (to access the screws in step #4).
3) remove the head-bumper metal strip from under the hinge of the upper bed.
4) remove all of the bolts the screw UP into the bed along the front, and right side of the van
and along the back of the van.  It is not necessary to remove the screws along the left side of
the van that hold the bed in place.
5) Remove the bolts that go from the water reservoir cabinet to the hanging closet.
6) remove the screw from the metal plate at the interior, bottom of the  hanging closet.
7) remove the screws at the exterior rear, bottom of the hanging closet.
8) I can't remember if one has to remove the rear bed, or just lay it flat.
9) remove the screws holding the hinges of the upper bed and the metal plate screwed to the
cross-beam.
10) check around for any other screws holding the rear hang cabinet or upper bunk or anything else
that might be in the way.
11) Now, have someone lift up slightly (2 to 4 inches) from under the right side of the upper
bunk, as you tilt out the hanging closet, tilt top of the closet to the right side of the van.

I think that is about it. Go slowly, as if I forgot any screws, you don't want to break anything.


An electric screw driver works well, but put it on a low setting for screwing things back in as
one does not want to strip screws or holes.
