The trouble I have with a rack on the back hatch is the dust accumulation.
The van pulls everything right onto my bike and it gets trashed pretty
quick. Highway driving is o.k. but it doesn't take long on forest service
roads.

BTW, my rack is a Thule SUV carrier and it doesn't seem to put too much
pressure on the glass as I first was worried about.  But I am buying a front
receiver mounted bike rack and see how that does.
