Sorry Chris, I wasn't trying to be trite. It just seems that whatever gets posted on this list is destined for a contrary response. I'd be willing to bet that a post describing a beautiful blue sky would get at least one reply from someone correcting them as to the actual color of the sky.

i was just curious.. as im sure some others were, too...

anyway for those who were curious as well, the part number above is the window switch for the mk2 golf/jetta '85-'92. as jeff stated, the switch is the same for the vanagon, but lacks the wiring harness on the back, so you need to be handy with the soldering iron. they are $30 ea new from the dealer.. so $14 is a good price if you dont mind soldering..

that being said, i have a few good used ones from quantums and vanagons (quantums and vanagons use the exact same switches, both with wiring harnesses) for those of you who dont feel like soldering..
