John In a word, iMac. If you are making home movies or mid grade video.

Get a G5 Imac and your have what you need with iMovie, iDVD etc

If you are serious, you can move up to Final Cut Express. If you are REALLY SERIOUS, then get a G5 dual processor and Final Cut Studio. ( Final Cut Pro, DVD Studio Pro, Motion, Soundtrack Pro, Compressor)

This is how I make my living. Don't waste your time and money on the PC side.
