>Getting fast quickly is more important than top speed, my 2 cents. Absolutely. It's nice to know that your bus will do a high speed if you ask it to, but... ...good acceleration is all-important on the open road. The less time you spend in the wrong lane, the safer everyone is. Those who overtake at barely more than the speed of the vehicle ther are overtaking are groissly inconsiderate at best (preventing anyone behind from overtaking safely in the available stretch of straight road); at worst they are a menace to safety. Of course those with a vehicle barely capable of overtaking might say they can't HELP it... but of course they can. If they have a gutless vehicle which they want to keep long-term, this is just an excuse for not repowering it to make it safer. -- Andrew Grebneff Dunedin New Zealand Fossil preparator <andrew.grebneff@stonebow.otago.ac.nz> Seashell, Macintosh, VW/Toyota van nut HUMANITY: THE ULTIMATE VON NEUMANN MACHINE DEMOCRACY: RULE BY THE LOWEST COMMON DENOMINATOR |
