Subject: Re: Wierd (Ignition?) Problem...

Déjà vu. This is what happened to me a couple of years ago. It was driving me crazy. The problem was that my mechanic could not diagnose it until it completely failed--which it did on a trip to Florida. Engine just died, tach went to 0 and stayed there. Fortunately, it happened about 25 miles from home. My mechanic traced (starting with the engine and moving forward) the problem to a bad switch/relay (I cannot recall) that is in the steering column. It was not the keyed ignition. I could call my mechanic to get the details if you want them.

Thanks to the towing insurance rider (a must!) and the extra day--we still made it to Florida!
