Hey ya! in my 88 Wolfsburg Edition GL i have achieved 95mph.(my speedo was reading a little slow at that time, so i might have about 3 more miles on top of my 95) that's on a flat section of I-5. the tach reads right around 5 grand, so i don't push anymore. but i still have some pedal travel left. at this point everything is stock accept tire size. im running 215/70/14 yokohama avid s/t. they are one increment away from what factory says i should use in regards to tire load limit.(they are a 96 instead of a 97) other than that it a 2.1, and 4spd manual. it will be interesting to see what i get when i do a tiico conversion, h&r spring, koni shocks, and 17" wheels. the only thing i don't know is what the wind was doing that evening, i dought it was a tail wind, i don't think i have ever had a tail wind on I-5.....
