Subject: Heater problems

I've been having trouble with the "Fresh air fan". It was working fine for quite a while, and would start up immediately when the switch was turned on.

About a month ago, it would only start a few moments to minutes after the switch was turned on. Now it will not turn on at all. The only time I get any airflow is when the van is in motion.

I checked the ballast resistor. It reads 2.4ohms. Is this correct? The switch also checks out ok.

I'm assuming the fan is bad. Does this sound right? I'm getting 12vdc to the switch.

Do I need to take the entire heater/fresh air box apart to test the fan? Do I need to remove the entire dash? Is there an easier way? According to Bentley on page 80.15. I'll need 11 clips of 321 819 059. and "D17" what is this? Some type of glue or silicone?

Thanx again for all of your help...
