Fiamma does make the A & E Horizon awning, but A & E uses their own fabric, which is not as good as the Fiamma fabric. Fiamma may make some of the parts found in the Carefree awnings, but they are not the same designs as Fiamma sells.

A & E will offer a new awning soon that will not be the Fiamma F45. I may get a sneak preview next week at the RV Dealers show in Louisville.

If you want the very best awning for your Vanagon, you can't beat the Fiamma F45. We can offer this at a discount over the Fiamma website price, or we can offer you the Horizon awning for even less.

Most Vanagon owners would be happy with the Fiamma F35. It is a well made awning, but you must roll it out by hand. We list these on our website. You need to call us to order the F45 or the Horizon.

Any of these awnings should be staked down in windy conditions. If there are strong wind gusts and heavy rain, you may want to roll it up and put it away. There are limitations to what any awning can handle. I use my F35 all the time and never have problems. I stake the feet to the ground and use the guy ropes if I expect any wind. If it's raining, lower one end of the awning to help drain the water.

thanks,
