Hello Marty. I dont think the fuel pump is overheating.When the pump filter gets plugged up, the pump will groan. When it runs for a couple of minutes,it cuts off? I think this is when the computer cuts back in. Maybe check the water temp 11 sensor or wire.This is a sensor that goes bad frequently.Tells the computer that the engine is warmed up and that it is ok to reconnect with the engine.If it does this with a cold engine, it may cut out.Is your oxygen sensor hooked up correctly?Maybe adjust the distributor a tiny bit.Just loosen the nut and tap the dist a bit in one direction , If the engine runs worse,tap it in the other direction .Remember where you started from though.Maybe these things will keep you busy till someone else chimes in.Check out the 2.1 w/problems above.Maybe it is the same problem Roger
