Subject: Help! No Seat Belts!
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

Greetings to the list! This is my first posting on the Vanagon list, although I have been on the Type2 list since 1996. I joined that list right as it was splitting away from v@l, and a few of the names I see here are still familiar from back in those days!

Anyhow:

I just bought a 1984 Vanagon, it's blue and white with a brown interior. It seats seven, but only has enough seat belts for four for some inexplicable reason.

Seeing as I have three kids and a wife, I really need more seat belts! I have noticed that it will be possible to add some three-point belts to the outward locations; does anyone have a recommendation as to cars to look in to get these belts for a retrofit? And do any of you have any that you'd love to sell to me? I would be very grateful.

I know that the Volvo station wagon belts are good, but no junkyards around here seem to have any. The ones I did find the guy wanted to charge me $150 for used seat belts. I was not amused.

Thanks for all of your help, now and in the future.
