I had those BFGs on my 82 diesel, no problem. I went bigger, installed a set of used Goodyear Wrangler Radials, size 235/75R15 on audi V8 rims. The tire diameter is 28.5". The V8 rim is 7.5" width and ET35. The tires fit fine and look great, but I only have them on the rears for now, until I get the rims machined. Changed the top speed by about 4 mph I am guessing. Great for highway because you can go much faster without the engine blowing up, if you're not going uphill. -Hans
