"The price of freedom is eternal vigilance."
I want to apologise for un-intentionally misleading anyone about the
1.9l air intake boots. About 3 years ago I looked around for these and
could not find them anywhere in the VW parts system. I was told at the
time that they were being discontinued by VW. I found a supply of about
20 of them at a wholesaler and bought them all thinking these were the
last ones on the planet. Over the past three years I have gone through
my supply of them. At the time of my posting I only had one left. I
should have double-checked that this part was indeed discontinued before
I posted it to the list. However since it was an older part, that I had
been told was discontinued, and it has been three years, I figured that
the part was NLA.
In the future before I post anything about a part being discontinued I
will double-check.
I will say in my own defense that the motivation for my post was not
really to make money. As I said I only had one of these left so I
really didn't have a ton I was sitting on, hoping scare a bunch of
people into buying them. I have also been selling these for below VW
list so I am not scalping anyone on them. I just wanted to warn people
about a part that I thought was NLA so they could search for it now
while it might actually be found. It's that simple.
Thanks,
Ken Wilford

Subject: More Bad Info From Ken Wilford
<<Another item that has been discontinued by VW (there is no other
source at the moment) is the 2.1l Vanagon intake boot. This is the
accordion looking boot between the air flow meter and the throttle body.
It has been discontinued by VW as of August. We still have a few on
the shelf, but once they are gone there are no more for the foreseeable
future. If you think you might need one I would encourage you to try to
find it now while myself and other vendors may have stock. The part
number is 025129627L. The 1.9l intake air boot has been discontinued
for the past 3 years. However I still have one NOS unit on the shelf.>>

More erroneous information from the east coast to drive up the price of
an available part.
I called my warehouse and there are 37 of these currently in the
country, and is NOT an obsolete part number.
They currently are on a rotating inventory at VW., and the part number
is good.
Not that anyone may need an intake elbow right this second--but fear
not--if you do don't go running to ole Ken just because he says they are
NLA.
They aren't.
If anyone needs one drop me a Line--l'll beat up any of his prices on VW
parts.
Take Care,and Stay Aware,
