My 90 Syncro is idling a bit rough and seems to be running very rich right after startup. Smells like more unburned gas coming out of the exhaust than normal, so I suspect that it's running too rich for some reason. It doesn't quite stall, but RPM's dip to 500 or 600 and refuses to hit 850 unless I hit the throttle. Then the symptoms go away. Lasts for a very short time although I have not tried to see what happens if I don't goose the throttle. We are not talking extreme temps here, by the way. Been through about every adjustment and tested/replaced parts except that I never touched the CO adjustment. I did install a new throttle switch and wonder if it needs to adjusted more accurately. Could not find anything in the Bentley or the "Bentley Lite" manuals other than the usual fuel injection test procedures, blah, blah. Any ideas? Keith O 84 Westy "Brownie" 90 Westy Syncro |
