Right. Pay 7-9K for a used car that STILL has the same inheritent problem. It's underpowered for today's highways.

If you have a good shell, it's a better investment to replace the power plant, especially if you already have problems with the powerplant. Unless you have driven a converted Vanagon, you have no idea how pleasurable they can be.
