You're right, from a Fox, and again you're right, the Digifant II will not "plug and play" into a Vanagon.

Now... it could have came from a 1987 that was converted to run on a Fox / Cabriolet engine!

I noticed the following ebay auction today: < http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1,1&item=8020041 450&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT > VW VANAGON ENGINE CONTROL UNIT DIGIFANT ENGINE CONTROL UNIT CAME OUT OF A RUNNING, 1987 VOLKSWAGEN VANAGON. PART #037 906 022 BE

Far as I can tell, that's a VW Fox Digifant II ECU part#. Picture matches number too. So if it came out of a "running 1987 Vanagon", the real question is "how well was it running"? Or maybe he means he found it just lying around loose INSIDE a running Vanagon. Can't imagine a Digifant II ECU would actually work... -- John Bange '90 Vanagon - "Geldsauger"
