Subject: 215/65/16 in clamshell?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1

Does a 215/65/16 tire fit fully inflated into a syncro clamshell with little or no modification?

I've done quite a bit of research on this, but have conflicting information. Could those who have these size tires, and have tried fitting them in the clamshell, respond?

fyi, I currently have the 27 x 8.5 R14 BFG TA KO's (diameter of 26.6" and width of 8.5"), which just barely fit in the clamshell now. I'm considering the Nokian Hakka CS with the 215/65 size (27.0" and 8.7"). (As an aside, the 205/65 size -- 26.5" and 8.2" -- supposedly does fit).

Thanks much, Bill Boulder 91 syncro westy 2.5
