so the useless dealer tell me the single unit fixture that is both the light & the plastic holder is no longer available

the FLAP'ers wont look & tell me if that have 1 so i gotta drive 1 hrs and walk aimlesss around the boneyard

so anyone know a compatible part wtf vw had to make it a single component rather than just a bulb replacement

Yes, another VW f***up, been battling that one for years. I usually take a standard mini bulb that was meant to push into a socket, straighten out the two leads then fit in the original socket after having pulled out the old bulb. The trick is to get the two leads to make and keep contact with the contact points in the socket. Easier said than done but, I have done it a number of times. No other solution that I've heard of. Sure would be nice if somebody came up with a good fix for this mess ! Three bulbs and sockets under the dash have this abnormality: two heater control lamps and the cig lighter lamp. Another VW PITA

Cheers,
