The spring type clamps leak much worse than the screw type clamps. The idea was good: a clamp that would be able to maintain constant tension on the hose in spite of temperature changes. However when you look at the later model vans that had these spring clamps they all have signs of leakage. Just go down to the area of the fuel rails and look at the fuel line in this area. You will find a gummy substance on the bottom side of the hose. This is fuel that has leaked and evaporated and left behind this residue. I never find this on vans with the screw type clamps. Even though you should check your screw type clamps every six months or so or when the temperature drops, in the main they are less prone to leak. Just FYI. You can do anything you want to do, I just thought I would let you know what I have experienced with these clamps.

I'm looking for the spring clamps for replacing my fuel lines in the engine compartment. Not the screw type. Anybody have a lead on those? Edward
