Dunno specifically about the skid plate aspect, but if you double-nut the
tube that runs through the center of the cooler, you can spin the tube out
and change that O-ring without having to struggle too seriously with those
wacky elbow hoses. Also a good time to check those little hoses. Mine were
so mangled by overtight cheese-grater hose clamps (thanks PO, you jackass)
that I have no idea why they weren't spewing coolant.
