thanks for clearing that up, mark.. i had thought the low pressure oil light still worked on the 86-91 clusters regardless if the high pressure connector (those chips/pcb clipped on back of speedo) was plugged in there. anyway, simple solution is to just get the connector with the ribbon, no big deal. you can still use any year speedo you want, just make sure you get the dynamic oil psi connector attached to it too. in other words, if you want to use a 86-91 cluster in a earlier model, just make sure the high/dynamic oil psi connector is attached to the PCB ribbon. (just prys out of the little tabs) this is correct, right?
