I recently received a tube of "Shoe Goo" as a gag gift. I think it's similar stuff. Anyway, a few days after receiving it, I was in a fender bender in my New Beetle TDI. The TDIs have this weird "air snorkel" box which is upstream of the air filter. It is way complicated, and includes a bug screen, pressure release flap valve. This thing was smashed into about 10 pieces. I'm sure it's a $$$ part at VW. Anyway, about 1/2 tube of shoe goo and it was back together again. It's nice to work with because it sets up in about 5 to 10 minutes, then dries to the consistency of shoe rubber. I think it holds up much better than epoxy to vibrations. Not sure about extreme heat though. Maybe GOOP is better for that?
